What a great start to the year for our runners who were out in force at Birchwood Forest Park for the 2014 Champs.
In the Team competitions our U15B came 3rd and so too did the U13G. The U13B and U15G came 4th. The U11B came 7th.
In the individual competitions top performance was Josh Betteley who won the U15B race by a huge margin.
In the U11 girls. Katie Holding 17th and Rosie Meakin 22nd.
In the U11 boys. Shaun Jones 10th, Daniel Bayes 22nd, Matthew Kesteven 27th and Paul Kenyon 32nd.
In the U13 girls. Katelyn Mooney 6th, Holly Smith 10th, Sarah Dufour Jackson 15th, Maddy Goodman 18th, Zoe Leydon 19th, Ellie Grinnell 20th, Lucy Smith 28th, Charlotte Bell 33rd.
U13 boys. Will Kesteven 11th, Peter Selby 15th, Jack Williamson 17th, Matthew Kenyon 19th, Jamie Monks 24th, Harrison Wright 33rd.
U15 girls. Sophie Smith 10th, Cara Gibbons 11th, Charlotte Oglesby 18th, Emma Stephen 20th.
U15 boys . Josh Betteley 1st, Arun Dight 7th, Josh Stubbs 20th, Owen Proctor 24th. The Team came third.
U20 ladies. Lauren Whittaker 7th.
U17's men. Jacob Brown 6th, Elliot Nevill 10th. Well done to James Howell-Jones who also competed.
Well done also to Neil Fowler and Rob Huntbach who ran in the Senior Men’s race.
Good luck to Katelyn Mooney, Josh Betteley and Jacob Brown who are definitely selected for the Cheshire team to compete at the Inter-Counties XC event to be held at Cofton Park, Birmingham on 8th March. Also fingers crossed for Arun Dight and Lauren Whittaker who will also probably be selected at the team manager’s discretion given that each age category team will have 8 members and there were no obvious contenders missing last Saturday.
