A beautiful sunny autumn afternoon at Westwood High School, Leek welcomed a large squad from CNAC on Saturday. Four girls competed in the U11 race with Olivia Fowler finishing in 21st place followed by Anna Crighton in 24th, Roisin Selby in 27th and Rosie Meakin in 28th. For the U11 boys, Will Denfhy came 12th, Shaun Jones 14th, Sean Sides 29th, Ben Basten 30th, Matthew Kesteven 34th, Reece Morrison 42nd, Paul Kenyon 44th, Ben Pettit 45th and Tyler Morrison 46th. In the U13 girls, Katelyn Mooney finished 7th on the day but won the individual’s 3rd prize overall. Ellie Grinell followed in 17th place with Zoe Leydon 19th, Sara Dufour-Jackson 27th, Lucy Smith 29th, Holly Smith 31st and Ruka Shonibare 37th. For the U13 boys, William Kesteven came a great 3rd, narrowly missing out on 3rd overall individual. Peter Selby finished in 16th with Jack Williamson 18th. The boys won the 2nd team prize overall. Matthew Kenyon came 21st, Jamie Monks 27th, Jordan Sides 32nd and Ryan Harper Griffiths 33rd. For the U15 girls, Cara Gibbons came 9th with Sophie Smith 12th, Emma Stephens a great 13th and Catriona Cody 16th. Due to a number of our runners being on English Schools XC Cup duty, Joshua Stubbs (15th) and Lewis Palin (21st) were drafted in to support Owen Proctor (20th) in securing 2nd place overall for the club. Well done guys – great team effort.
Success also for the U17 women with Freya Taylor-Hatswell 6th, Anna Cawdron 8th and Annie Huntbach 9th, finishing 2nd team overall. In the U17 men, Jacob Brown finished 3rd on the day and 2nd overall with Eliot Nevill 6th and James Howell-Jones 9th. The lads won the U17 team competition. Lauren Whittaker came a creditable 76th in the Senior Women category while Neil Fowler finished 161st and Rob Huntbach 169th in the Senior Men’s race.
